£8.00/1000 words after 10000 words
Copyediting only. An extra £10.00 charged for additional feedback on structure and coherency of argument.
Creative Writing (short stories, flash fiction, novel fragments)
£8.00/1000 words
Poetry
£7.00 per 100 words; prose poems will be charged as short fiction (above).
Fees for creative writing include feedback on form and fictional and narrative devices. Other types of writing (formal letters, book proposals, covering letters) can also be accepted and are charged at £7 per A4 page.
For example, if you send us a 10 000 word essay to be copyedited only (that is, we only check spelling, grammar and punctuation but not structure or content), that would cost £75. A 5000-word essay with copyediting plus feedback on the writing as a whole would cost £47.50.
We accept any type of writing up to 20 000 words per submission. If you need feedback on a novel manuscript, send a couple of chapters at a time and get back to us if you found the first bit of advice helpful!
Please save your document as a Word .doc or .docx file and e-mail it as an attachment to bluespotlightediting@gmail.com. A short introduction of the text (what it's for/about; word count etc.) in the e-mail body is always helpful. If you're writing an academic essay and are required by your institution to use a specific referencing system, please let us know. We use British English and will edit submissions as such unless otherwise requested, so if you're using American English spelling, please also mention that in your e-mail. Payments can be done via PayPal or bank transfer - we'll send you an invoice along with your edited piece of work. Please allow us 2-4 working days (that includes Saturdays!) to return your work.
